Christmas is coming and the Merry Happy Hittys are getting ready for the Holidays!  They spent yesterday learning to cook, to see if they could cook this years Christmas dinner.  If they couldn’t, then they figured they would need to find a catering service on Etsy or eBay to provide their holiday feast this year.

Hitty Dot followed the recipes provided by Julie Old Crow to make a few festive dishes yesterday, and let’s just say that she, Hitty Elsie and Hitty Lavon were VERY pleased with the results!

Julie Old Crow sure knows how to teach a Hitty how to cook!

Here’s the Hittys enjoying their feast.

Hitty Feast

They baked breads, cookies, cupcakes, pies, brownies a turkey and even planted some pumpkins!

All of the recipes were provided by Julie Old Crow, click here to visit her website.  All the miniature items were made with polymer clay and various items found from around the house.

The pumpkins were made following Julie’s clay pumpkin tutorial.  Hitty Dot is very pleased with her pumpkins, she had been wanting some for a very long time!  This years pumpkin harvest was very good for the Hittys and they hope to grow more pumpkins in the future.

Hitty Lavon made the breads following Julie’s rye recipe.  She made a loaf of rye bread, some nut brownies and two loaves of Rye Cottage Loaf.

Hitty Dot, Elsie and Lavon had a blast making these sweet treats following Julie’s and Ms. Plum’s Holiday Treats recipes.   They made cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, pumpkin kiss cookies and chocolate cupcakes.

The Hittys ate so many sweets that today they are recovering from a tummy ache.  I tried to tell them to eat more vegetables so they would not get sick, but they pointed out that they didn’t have any vegetables cooked yet.

Hitty Elsie spent most of her day making Acorn Pies following Julie’s Acorn Nut Pie recipe.  The acorn pies looked so beautiful that they decided not to cut into them just yet, they instead put them in the freezer to enjoy with their Christmas dinner.

Hitty Dot made this delicious turkey as their final dish for the day following Julie’s Holiday Turkey recipe.   She discovered that they did not have any dishes large enough for the turkey, so she had the Clothespin dolls make a golden platter that was the perfect size for their turkey.

The Merry Happy Hittys had a blast cooking yesterday.  They plan to learn to cook vegetables and maybe even a ham before Christmas.  They are also busy wrapping presents for all their friends, they have a very busy schedule over the next few weeks!
