My Seventeenth Hitty And First Butternut Hitty

I completed my first butternut Hitty this week.  I loved carving Butternut wood, and found it very pleasing to work with.  It carves very smoothly without chipping. 

I love how this ones expression turned out, she looks so sweet and childlike.  Since most of my Hittys look to be teen to adult, and since this one looks to be more around 9 or 10, I’ll say she is my “youngest Hitty” to date in my mind.

She is currently for sale on eBay.  I am currently working on my next Log Cabin Hitty, and have plans to carve a Maple Hitty in the near future as well.
