Hittys PIF Adventures

Today the Merry Happy Hittys received their first PIF (Pay it forward).  They wanted to share their excitement, so a lot of photos were taken of them enjoying their lovely surprise gifts.

Here they are, in a circle simply chatting on a sunny Saturday morning.   They are talking about the new sofa that should be arriving this week so that they will have some furniture for the living room.

There’s a knock at the door, OH MY!  The mailman has brought a package for them!

Hitty Dot and Hitty Maggie struggle with the scissors to open the package.

They are all excited as Hitty Dot and Hitty Maggie struggle to get a plastic bag out of the envelope.

They can’t get the package out of the envelope, so Bitty Hitty offers to help.

They continue struggling to get the package out, with the help of the Twin Butler Hittys and Hitty Courtney.  The package is much larger than they had anticipated!

“Ok” says Hitty Dot, “on three everyone TUG as hard as you can”!

They tug so hard that they all fall to the floor, but alas, the package is now free!

Hitty Maggie pulls the package towards her to open it, only to find that it is EXTREMELY heavy!  She tugs and tugs but can’t get the bag to move.

Oh my, clothespin doll has grabbed the bag and refuses to let go.  He’s trying to be a sneaky little doll isn’t he?

Hitty Dot laughs and picks up the clothespin doll and hands him to Bitty Hitty to hold.

Hitty Maggie can finally get the bag open, but it’s so full she can’t get everything out by herself!

Hitty Dot helps Hitty Maggie pull the items from the bag.

Whew, everything is finally unpacked and all the Hittys squeal in delight as they see the pile of beautiful new clothing that came in the mail.  Oh my this is such a BIG surprise!

Hitty Maggie lies everything out so they can view everything neatly.

The first sorting shows 3 beautiful dresses.  One of the dresses has a beautiful matching bonnet and apron.

The second sorting shows pajamas / underclothes with a matching nightcap, a chemise, a lovely blue sundress and 2 wonderful capes!

The Butler Twins ask if they can have the capes, and of course all the Hittys agree that they may.  Don’t they look lovely in their new capes?

Hitty Dot makes a phone call, and asks the Mystic Hittys to come for a visit because she has gifts to share.  She presents Hitty Charlene with the lovely dress with tons of pretty flowers.

Hitty Charlene is very happy to receive the dress, since the only clothing she owned were her lace bloomers.

Hitty Charlene shakes Hitty Dots hand and thanks her for the dress.  “Look” says Charlene, “It goes so well with my bloomers!”

Hitty Mystic is a special Hitty, she is well loved by many children.  Hitty Dot presents her with the Purple dress with matching apron and bonnet.

“Oh thank you!” says Hitty Mystic, “Now I have something to wear to Church!”

Hitty Mystic models her new dress, bonnet and apron.  She gently folds her pink dress and puts it away.  “I will share this lovely purple outfit with all the Hittys” says Hitty Mystic “Since we take turns going to Church with the children, this is our Sunday School dress and whoever goes to Church on each Sunday is the lucky Hitty who gets to wear this”.

Hitty Dot presents Hitty Courtney with the pretty blue dress.  “Oh thank you so much Hitty Dot” says Hitty Courtney, “Now I have a dress to wear to town instead of my gardening dress I wear now!”

All the Hittys agree that the new dress suits Hitty Courtney.

“I know I am tiny” says Bitty Hitty, “but is there anything that will fit me?  I have nothing but my rug, and nothing pretty to wear”.

Hitty Dot pauses for a moment, and thinks about poor Bitty Hitty.  She is certain that everything is too big for Bitty except the capes, which were claimed by the twins.

“Aha, I have a solution” exclaims Hitty Dot, “The chemise would make a lovely dress that’s perfect for you Bitty!”

“Oh thank you” says Bitty, “I wish to weep tears of joy, this Chemise top makes a wonderful dress for me!  See, it fits me perfectly!”

Everyone runs off to enjoy their new clothing.  Hitty Maggie tells Hitty Dot that she’s tired and going to go rest.

Hitty Dot sees that she is all alone and decides to try on the nightclothes and nightcap.  She quickly glances around to be sure no one is watching before she changes.

As she tries on the nightclothes, she thinks about how happy everyone is with their new presents.

As she pulls on the nightclothes, she realizes that Hitty Maggie did not receive a single thing!

“Oh my, this just won’t do” says Hitty Dot.

She quickly removes the nightclothes so that she can give them to Hitty Maggie.

“Hitty Maggie is older than the other Hittys, and works hard to help our mama make pretty dresses for us all.” thinks Hitty Dot.  “She is always the most tired, so she should get the resting clothes so that she can rest more comfortably at night.”

“I will instead wear the sundress.” thinks Hitty Dot as she quickly puts the sundress on.

“Oh my” thinks Hitty Dot, “this sundress is a lot cooler than my Quaker dress, it’s very nice and comfortable.  It feels so good to get out of those long sleeves!”

Hitty Dot calls Hitty Maggie back into the living room and presents her with the nightclothes and nightcap.

“Oh my” exclaims Hitty Maggie, “this set is so comfortable, I just KNOW I will rest much better now that I am in comfortable nightclothes!”

Hitty Dot asks Hitty Maggie to stay for a quick family portrait.  She promises to tuck Hitty Maggie into bed once the portrait is taken.

Hitty Dot called everyone back into the living room and had clothespin doll take the family portrait.  Don’t they look so happy with their new gifts?!?

Everyone says goodbye and goes to their individual homes, they’ve had a very long and exciting day.

Hitty Dot tucks Hitty Maggie into bed and then goes back downstairs to clean up the packing mess.

As Hitty Dot picks up the envelope to put it in the recycling bin, she notices that it’s still a bit heavy.

Looking around, she sees that there is no one to help her check the envelope.   With a sigh, she slowly lifts the envelope so that she can get a better view to see what is in it.

She notices another envelope in the package, and reaches down to grab it.

She can’t reach it, so she lowers herself slowly into the package until her arms reach the envelope.

Oh no!  She is stuck!  She slid too far into the package and now she can’t get out!

“Help! Help!” screams Hitty Dot, but there is no one to hear her cries!  Hitty Maggie is sleeping soundly and everyone else has left!

“Oh no, what am I going to do” cries Hitty Dot, “I can’t get out!”

“Help, Help!” she cries.

Then she hears a giggle.  “Who’s there” cries Hitty Dot, “Please help me get out of here!”

“I’ll save you my damsel in distress” cries Clothespin doll, as he climbs the package to rescue poor Hitty Dot.

He grabs her foot and pulls with all his might.

“Oh thank you” says Hitty Dot as she feels herself being pulled from the package.

Her foot is now out over clothespins head and he can’t reach it any longer so he grabs her dress and starts tugging the hem.

“Oh please be careful” exclaims Hitty Dot, “this is a new dress and I would hate for the hem to get ripped”.

“I’m sorry” said Clothespin Doll, “I’ll jump on your foot instead”.

Clothespin doll starts jumping up and down on Hitty Dots foot, and with each jump she slowly moves further out of the package.

“Weeeeeee this is fun!” Shouts Clothespin Doll.

“Maybe for you, but not for my” says Hitty Dot.

“Whew, thank you so much Clothespin Dolly, I do really thank you for your help.  Dolly?  Dolly?  Where are you dolly?”

“Down here” says clothespin doll.  “I fell off your foot, get that envelope quickly and let me see what you have there please!”

Hitty Dot grabs the envelope that she had been holding onto the whole while, and pulls it out of the package.

She and clothespin doll opens the envelope together after they move the package to the recycle bin.

“Oh look, this is beautiful!” exclaims clothespin doll.  “I love this card and it will make a great tent for me, may I have it since I didn’t get a surprise?”

“Let’s read it together” says Hitty Dot, “and then you may move it to the attic and use it as your tent.  Just make sure to take very good care of it ok, because the other Hittys will want to read it also.  It’s a shame they left before we discovered it.”

“It certainly is a shame” says clothespin doll, “but I’m glad they left.  I would not have had so much fun jumping on your foot if they had been here to help you.  Oh, remember that camera you loaned me for the portrait?  I took pictures of you stuck in the package!”

“Oh noooooo” cries Hitty Dot, “I can’t believe you took pictures of me like that, but that’s ok, I’m sure the other Hittys will enjoy the story!”

“Let’s read the card now” says Hitty Dot, “and then we will see how the card looks as a tent”.

Hitty Dot reads the card to Clothespin doll, and they read the Dollies prayer on the front of the card together.

“Ms. Elaine sure is sweet to send these wonderful gifts, isn’t she”? asks Clothespin Doll.

“She sure is” says Hitty Dot.  “We will have to be sure and send her a letter thanking her for the wonderful surprises”!

Hitty Dot makes the card into a tent, as she promised, and she and clothespin doll sit silently enjoying the beautiful picture and photo on the front.

“I’m tired” says clothespin doll.  “Me too” says Hitty Dot, “let’s move your tent to the attic and take a nap on this warm and soft carpet before Hitty maggie awakes.
