Hitty Bedroom

I finally got around to working on my Hitty Home, and have the bedroom almost completed.
I made the bed out of a mixture of balsa and basswood, with wooden dowels as the posts.
The chest is a pre-made chest purchased at Michael’s arts and crafts store.
I stained both pieces a dark walnut stain, and then washed them with some white paint and then sanded them a bit to “age” them.
I stained the floor with the same dark walnut stain. The walls are covered in vinyl wallpaper with a small primitive print that is perfect for dollhouses. The ceiling is covered in scrapbook paper that matches the wallpaper.
The mattress was made using some vintage burlap type fabric. I followed the “Camp Cot” tutorial provided by Julie Old Crow to make the mattress, using my beds measurements instead of the cot measurements.
Here’s the bedroom with the bed unmade.
And here is Hitty Dot making the bed.
Here’s Hitty Dot enjoying her new bed, doesn’t she look so relaxed while resting?
