A Log Cabin PIFF from Sue G and the Northeast Hittys

I received a wonderful PIFF yesterday from Sue G and the Northeast Hittys. Sue sent Hitty Elsie (my first Log Cabin hitty) 2 squares from her Great Great Grammy Poore’s “log cabin” quilt.
The Merry Happy Hittys were so tickled about the gifts that they all ran and started snuggling under one of the “quilts”, which is currently keeping four of the Hittys nice and snug and warm.
Sue also sent a copy of an article about her Grammy Poore, and her celebrating her 98th birthday. I love ANY PIF I receive, but this one has touched me because it’s part of an old quilt, made by a woman who lived in the early to late 1800′s, with an old pattern that fits my Log Cabin Hittys so well; as well as a document that explains it’s “history”.
One of the squares will be made into a “Hitty Sized” quilt for Hitty Elsie, the other will be set aside for either framing, adding to a new quilt or to make another Hitty sized quilt in the future.
