Meet Hitty Erin

The newest addition to the Merry Happy Hittys family is Hitty Erin, pictured below.

Hitty Erin is made from poplar wood, and is my first Hitty that is the exact height of the original Hitty.  She was named Erin for several reasons.  One, the poplar wood has a greenish tint and since my Ancestors on my mothers side came from Ireland, I decided an Irish name would be suitable for her. Fifth Log Cabin Hitty

Here’s my fifth Log Cabin Hitty.  I am very pleased with how well her lips turned out, and am very happy about the outfit I sewed for her.  I’m finally getting to where I can sew nicer outfits and have been sewing more than carving lately.  I’m finding sewing to be a joyful experience and am having a lot of fun trying new techniques for making lovlier dresses.
