My Ninth Hitty

I completed my ninth Hitty last week, she is made of basswood and wears a lovely green and yellow dress. She was a lot of fun to make, I am finding it easier to carve with each new Hitty that I complete. She is also nameless, because she’s also up for adoption on eBay. French SFBJ Doll

I recently acquired this fabulous French doll manufactured by the SFBJ company in 1924 according to the markings on her head. She stands 20 inches tall, and altho she is not in mint condition (missng 2 fingers and some paint peeling) she’s a beauty to me. Read more

My Sixth Hitty

My sixth Hitty was carved from Paulownia wood and turned out more beautiful than I could imagine. I found the paulownia wood a challange to carve due to it’s softness, so I probably will not use this type of wood again. Read more
